2018 Travel Destination: Panama

This post is in collaboration with Kalu Yala. All opinions are my own.

With 2018 right around the corner, sometimes that's when families start to plan their vacations. Personally for us, we like to travel when it's cold, not hot. I'm not much into hot weather at all and it really dampens my vacation.

With that said, I wanted to share a little known place that is an amazing place for a family vacation that is out of the ordinary. Panama.

Panama is a super diverse country to visit and there really is something for everyone there. From the jungles of the Darien to Isla Contadora, there are a bunch of wonderful places to see.

Here are just a few of the places to vacation to in Panama:

The Islands

If you're looking for a cozy place to see the ocean, Guna Yala is the place for you. Residents there make sure to preserve a lot of land so you won't have any huge hotels. But you will have lots of eco-friendly huts.

The entire region is beautiful with clear blue waters and pure white sand. You'll be able to see the Caribbean in a whole new way.

The Mountains

A seven hour drive from Panama City will end you up with jaw dropping views of the mountains. There is a lot for tourists to do in this area like visiting parks and forests or even just eating a wonderful meal with a view.

The Jungles

If you're looking for a way to connect to nature again, then Kalu Yala is it. This is an off the grid camp where you sleep in a tent, eat the jungle food and learn how to be self sustaining. The camp is only accessible by two miles of dirt road and is 50 minutes from Panama City and 35 minutes from the international airport.

Kalu Yala is more than just a vacation destination. You can also study abroad with  Kalu Yala as well! They have programs for many different careers where you will learn how to work with nature.

If you're thinking of visiting Panama soon, I hope these suggestions come in handy!
