For a few months now, I have really fallen in love with the silhouette of dresses from the 1940's. I love the gathering at the stomach and the details, like the buttons in the back. This lovely dress is fashioned to be a retro type of dress, mostly resembling the 1940's. It has a cross over neckline and front split peplums which really add to the retro feel. The zipper is in the back but right above it you also have two rouleau button closures as well. The sleeves end above the elbow, giving it the perfect 1940's feel too.
The pattern on the dress is a delicate flower print that paired perfectly with my edelweiss necklace my husband gave me. I really love the ruched bodice and angled empire waist as well. It helps to give a flattering figure to a pear shape like me. There's also a sash in the back to tie which finishes off the look.
Since this dress just screamed retro, I thought the perfect photoshoot would be with steam locomotives. It's an amazing feel and it looks like you went back through time.
The dress itself fit like a dream and was very comfortable. It's actually the most comfortable dress I own right now and I love wear it. You can dress it up or just wear it to the supermarket which is what I really love. Plus it's very figure flattering too.
