Mary's First American Girl Doll #AmericanGirlSummer

This post is sponsored by American Girl. All opinions are my own.

I have vivid memories of American Girl® ever since I was a child. The first time I ever saw one was when I was at my best friend’s house. Her doll was Kirsten Larson and when I would come over, we would play with her. After seeing how fun she was, I instantly wanted a doll of my own. So after months of begging my parents, they finally surprised me for my birthday with the one I wanted, Samantha Parkington.

I treasured my American Girl doll so much. When I went to my best friend’s house, we got to play dolls together. Plus she always got the American Girl magazine at her house so we would read them together with the dolls. American Girl was always a huge part of my life growing up. I even kept my own doll, Samantha, until I was married and pregnant.

Now that my little girl is turning seven this year, I think she’s ready to get her own American Girl Doll. Earlier this week, we ordered her Rebecca Rubin, the first Jewish American Girl. Mary is so excited to get her that she waits for the UPS man every day! But she’s also excited because this year will be her first time going to the American Girl store too!

At the American Girl store, there’s so much for every type of girl. American Girl is your Summer Destination for exclusive events and summer-only opportunities that celebrate girls and help them make memories they'll cherish. You'll also find summer exclusives in the store, restaurant, and salon!

Here are my top 4 reasons why American Girl is a Perfect Summer Destination for all Girls:

  • Their Awesome Parties: Any girl and her friends would flip over backwards to have a birthday party at American Girl! With their gourmet meals, signature desserts, goody bags, doll tiaras, games, crafts, and so much more they will have a blast!
  • The Exclusive Events: American Girl has amazing events at each of their stores that are not only fun but sometimes free too! Girls can take a cooking class, have a book signed by a favorite author, spend time learning about one of the characters she loves or even watch a movie! These are just a few of the unique events and workshops they have monthly.
  • The Dining: From scrumptious starters to delectable desserts, American Girl menus feature girls’ favorites - and dolls are welcome to join the fun, too! You can make reservations at a Cafe or drop by a Bistro, each offering service throughout the day, from brunch through dinner. There are even little chairs for the dolls too!
  • The American Girl Doll Hair Salon: At the salon, your doll can get a new ’do, get her ears pierced, and pampering, too! Plus you can watch the whole thing!
Our adventure to the American Girl store was a blast and we can't wait to go back again! We did two events, experienced the hair salon and had a lovely lunch. Overall it was a very special day and Mary has completely fallen in love with everything American Girl!
