An Educational Vacation in Los Angeles

This post is sponsored by CheapOair.com. All opinions are my own.

There are literally so many places that are educational in and around Los Angeles that are fun for families. If you're planning on taking a vacation to Los Angeles soon, why not check out CheapoAir.com . CheapOair is recognized as the second largest seller of airline tickets in the United States and I have personally used them to find the best rates!

CheapOair recently has started the “Things To Do” series which is hosted on the CheapOair Miles Away Blog. It's a television program style video series which is hosted by “The CheapOair Travel Guy” Beau Rials. CheapOair will be producing new videos each month to update and expand the Things To Do video series to cover destinations around the country, and the globe. Make sure to follow the CheapOair YouTube channel for their updates to the series. And follow their social channels because CheapOair will be reaching out to their followers for a chance to participate in a very exciting opportunity in the coming months…no details available yet, but it’s going to be a lot of fun, and their YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter followers will get first notice to enter.

One of the episodes in the Things to Do series is about Los Angeles so if you're looking to take an educational vacation with kids in Los Angeles, here are some amazing places you don't want to miss.

1. The Natural History Museum

No vacation is complete without a learning experience. As a homeschool mom, I love being able to find a great place to learn and there's nothing better than going to the Natural History Museum.

2. California Science Center

Again, this is another amazing place to have a learning experience. This place is a must see for any family vacation! But make sure you get there with enough time to spend the day. They close at 5pm and there's a lot to see!

3. The Los Angeles Zoo

This is probably one of the most famous zoos in the country. The LA Zoo is huge and they have an amazing assortment of animals!

4. The Samuel Oschin Planetarium

If you're looking for something fun to do at night, head over to the Samuel Oschin Planetarium.

5. Skirball Cultural Center

If you're looking for a fun place for kids, check out the Skirball Cultural Center. They even have a mini Noah's ark!

6. A Helicopter Tour

There are a lot of helicopter tours around Los Angeles but I would recommend the Los Angeles shoreline helicopter tour. How beautiful would it be to see the beach from the air?

7. The Getty Center

This is a free attraction that is family friendly so what can be better? You can tour the art exhibits and the gardens so plan to spend a few hours there.

8. La Brea Tar Pits and Museum

If you love dinosaurs, this is the place for you. It's educational, low cost and family friendly. It's amazing to see all the fossils and artifacts still being found right there!

9. The Autry Museum of the American West

If you love cowboys, this will be like stepping into an old movie. It's all about the history of western movies and culture, along with collections of art and even film props.

10. Japanese American National Museum

Los Angeles has one of the largest Japanese American communities in the country and at the Japanese American National Museum, you can learn all about how it developed over the years.

11. Cabrillo Marine Aquarium

No vacation is complete without going to a nearby aquarium. I love finding aquariums and I can stay for hours just watching the sealife. It's soothing and educational for the entire family.

Why I love using CheapOair is because they are just flight focused. They also use Fusion Fares technology which allows a search to be answered with not only single airline itineraries, but also itineraries that feature multiple airlines that can result in a much lower cost per ticket. They also have a  Fare Predictor which allows the passenger to sign up for notifications regarding fluctuations in pricing for a chosen itinerary.

In addition to requested dates, search results on CheapOair will include money saving options for alternative travel dates. I have personally used this when booking trips for my grandfather when his travel dates were flexible. I've been able to save him hundreds of dollars just by checking other dates! CheapOair also has phone only deals which are so low priced, they can't even put them online! So the next time you're booking a trip, make sure to check out CheapOair.
