1940s Pinafore Dress by BelleofBallVintage

I have been in love with pinafore dresses for months now after seeing so many all over Instagram! I love how easy they are to wear, how comfortable they are and how vintage they look!

The last time I paired up with BelleofBallVintage, we decided to make a lovely dress with heart pockets. But this time, we decided on an apron style pinafore with wooden buttons in the back. I wanted a really bright color and fell in love with the lavender color she helped find me too.

The back of the dress has beautiful wooden buttons to keep it closed. It also has criss-cross straps on the shoulders. The skirt had some pleating as well since I don't like when skirts are too tight on the bottom. This one had just enough flare to it.

To make it really feel vintage, I paired it with a peter pan collar blouse made from a 1940's pattern, my stockings and 1940's reproduction shoes. I also pinned my hair back a bit to give it a bit of a farm girl feel.

This dress is super versatile too because another day I ended up wearing it with an embroidered Hungarian blouse underneath and it looked adorable!
