My Weight Loss Regimen

On March 1st, I made a decision to start losing weight. The past few years had really hit hard and it wasn't until I really looked in the mirror did I see an unhappy face looking back. Growing up, I was always naturally skinny but after getting pregnant with my daughter, I was diagnosed with a lot of health issues; most during pregnancy.

After I gave birth to Mary, I had gained 70 pounds because of the health issues. Since I was always naturally skinny, all of a sudden being overweight really sent me into a depression. I wasn't used to the way I looked and my life seemed to be going so fast.

As Mary got bigger, I started to get more and more sick. By the time she was 1 year old, I was barely 100 pounds. Finally I started taking shots every week and seeing doctors constantly. By the time she was almost 3, I wasn't in such bad health anymore and I was able to start gaining some weight back. But I gained too much too quickly and then ended up maintaining a heavier weight than I really wanted. So now I was depressed again because I had put back on all the weight I had lost in my pregnancy.

I ended up maintaining that weight for a lot of years and I never tried to get it off. I just figured this was how it was going to be forever so just deal with it.

But on March 1st, I made a decision to start trying to get back to a healthy weight, but with diet and exercise.

I started walking 10,000 steps daily, eating a low sodium diet with high protein and I also do Country Heat nightly from BeachBody on Demand. I also love drinking protein drinks and eating a lot of fruits and veggies. And I am trying my best to be gluten free as well.

So what is my new update as of today? I have lost 13 pounds as of today and I am thrilled!

Starting to eat healthy to lose weight has been fun and exciting for me. I've discovered a lot of amazing products out there that actually taste really good. And one of them being BodyArmor Lyte.

It is a naturally flavored, naturally sweetened low-calorie sports drink that combines electrolytes, coconut water and vitamins for super hydration. It only has 20 calories per serving which is great plus it's low in sodium and high in potassium. BodyArmor Lyte is meant to be consumed while doing light to moderate activity so it's perfect for when you're walking like me.

Walking everyday is a new hobby of mine and I love to walk in new places. BodyArmor Lyte helps keep me hydrated and it tastes great. Especially when you're tired of plain water.

In the Atlanta area, you can find them in Kroger and Publix.

I honestly can't wait until my next update to say I have lost even more weight! I am really giving this my all and I can't wait to keep losing.
