Bringing the #ComfortsFromHome to the Military

In my house, Marie Callender's has always been a name synonymous with delicious food. Sometimes when I'm in the grocery store, I get a few of their meals for when I get busy during the day, and I'm never disappointed. Their meals always offer so much flavor and most of them would be considered comfort foods.

This fall, Marie Callender's has launched the Comforts from Home Project by bringing the comforts of home to those who protect America's homes every day: the brave men and women of the U.S. military.

For this, I completely applaud them since my husband is an Army man. I always love when people actually recognize the military and what they do for us every day.

The Comforts from Home Project will also welcome one special soldier back to her/his family in a national television event "A Hero's Welcome" airing on November 11, 2014 across a range of your favorite networks including HGTV, Food Network and the Cooking Channel.

Hosted by Robert Irvine from Restaurant Impossible, Genevieve Gorder from HGTV Design Star and Gary Sinise, award-winning actor and founder of the Gary Sinise Foundation, the show will be a heart warming event that brings the comforts of home to American troops in surprising ways that only Marie Callender's can.

I think this is such a wonderful thing for Marie Callender's to do for our military and I know I'll be tuning in to watch the episode!

Tune-in as Marie Callender’s, the USO and an army of experts from food, home and travel provide the comforts of home as only Marie Callender’s can, in a truly heartwarming homecoming you’ll always remember.

“A Hero’s Welcome” will welcome one special soldier back to their family in a national television event airing on Veteran’s Day, November 11, 2014.
