This past week I had the opportunity to interview Danielle Smith from Extraordinary Mommy about her budget friendly tips on pork for the summer! I've never been a big fan of pork since I've heard how unhealthy it is so I'm glad I talked with Danielle because it really put everything into perspective.
One of my questions was what is the healthiest cut of pork available and Danielle said to look for anything with loin in it. You can also trim off the excess fat and grill it to make it even leaner. Danielle also said some of the best cuts of pork for grilling are the New York Pork Chop and the Porter House Chop because they are actually healthier than the steaks sharing their names! Did you know that pork is 60% healthier than 2 decades ago? Danielle said that pork stands up against other lean meats of nutritional value very well.
And since Danielle juggles work and her family, she said to always look for a balance. Know that you have to do things independently and you can only do so many things at one time. When you're working, your not telling the kids about dinner and when you're playing with the kids, you're not responding to emails.
I really enjoyed my conversation with Danielle Smith and I learned a lot about pork from it. I never knew much about pork until now and I can't wait to pass along the tips!
