Teachers Are Important to Everyone #TeachersChangeLives #CGC

Have you ever had a teacher that really touched your life in school? I actually had a few but the one that stands out the most to this day was my 11th grade English teacher. She was brand new that year but she made me think of stories in a whole new way. I actually enjoyed going to her class because she made learning fun.

After having her as a teacher, she inspired me to want to teach children some day too. But my main passion was to be a music teacher since I love to sing. Of course though I eventually got married and had Mary so I didn't get to be a music teacher, but I became something even more special to me. My daughter's teacher.

We home-school Mary and from the time I found out I was pregnant with her, I was already planning out her lesson schedule for years to come. I think being able to teach your children at home is one of the greatest gifts you can receive. Not only am I able to be with her everyday, but I can also instill and enforce our values on her.

I believe that education is very important, whether it is from a home-school environment like we have or at a regular school. Just take a look at how one teacher has been able to change her students' lives.

Did you know that teachers spend money every year out of their own pocket, especially in underfunded areas? I actually just met an art teacher over the weekend that completely funds his own art program in the school because the school no longer funds it. Office Depot and Adopt-A-Classroom have partnered to raise awareness about teachers, and all that they do in the lives of their students. Adopt-A-Classroom is a nonprofit organization that helps connect donors with teachers to enhance the learning environment for students.
