The 2014 Ford Fusion

Last week we had the opportunity to test drive the 2014 Ford Fusion for a week. And let me tell you, it's all new from what I remember. When this sporty hot rod pulled up in my driveway, I couldn't believe it! My first car was a 2007 Ford Fusion so I honestly hadn't seen the Fusion line since then. And now they look like fast paced muscle cars!

I loved the grill in the front of it too! I felt so stylish driving it; especially since it was red. Did you know that the rear inflatable seatbelts now available in 2014 Fusions make this the only car in the popular midsize segment to offer rear inflatable seatbelts? I think this is a great thing to have especially if you have kids!

The Fusion was very comfortable to drive in and I fell in love with a lot of the features it had including the blind spot warning. Have you ever been parked between two cars and you just can't seem to see when you're backing out? The blind spot warning system even helps you with that too! And active park assist will literally parallel park your car without you! The car will use sensors to steer the wheel; all you need to do is use the brake and gas! And for someone who can't parallel park to save their soul, this is a must have in the city!

The lane keeping system is also another amazing feature that I was able to witness. Using a small camera on the outside of the rear view mirror, it looks down on the road and makes sure you're in your lane. It will also alert the driver if it senses drowsiness or erratic behavior. Like for instance, I was in the Chick-Fil-A parking lot and got a little too close to the car in front of me. Of course I was just in line, but the car actually flashed bright red lights above the steering wheel and that definitely got my attention!

So my overall thoughts on the 2014 Ford Fusion? One of the safest cars I have ever driven, hands down. Would I buy it? Yes, in a heartbeat. As a previous owner of a Fusion, a Focus, and a Windstar, I am a Ford person and will always be because they are safe and reliable cars.

  1. First, the color is pretty awesome on this one. I like the lane staying feature, that would be a great safety feature. What on earth are inflatable seat belts?

  10. What a sporty little car!
If I didn't have to drag around the entire world with me I would totally drive one.
We test drove an earlier model and loved it but with all the car seats it just wasn't practical.

  17. I have been in love with the Fusion since the first model came out around when I graduated high school. I dated a guy in college that drove one, and it was affordable luxury all the way. Not sure I like the more sporty look of this years model, but I bet it's a comfy ride!

  21. One of my favorite features on a car is the remote start button. I love those! I like good gas mileage too. The design on this car is pretty sleek too. Looks like a great all around vehicle to have!

  22. I can't parallel park either so this would be the perfect car for me if I was in the market for a new vehicle. Its too small for my family though. We need big vehicles or a vehicle that can seat 6 comfortably. Love the red color as well and all the awesome features.
