It seems like just yesterday I was walking into the stores seeing all the summer stuff. Now back to school supplies are lining the shelves and hanging everywhere! Summer is already gone and fall is coming up quickly! Are you getting ready for the kids going back to school yet?
In our state, the kids go back to school in the beginning of August so already tonight the first football game of the season is going on! I always loved the first day of school because you got to see all your friends again after a long summer. Plus you had all new stuff to take to school with you. And who doesn't like to show off all the new things you got?
But not all kids are heading back to school yet. And I don't mean the other half of the country that starts in September. Did you know that every year 1 million students fail to graduate high school? That's pretty scary! My husband's father never even finished the fourth grade and that was back when school wasn't mandatory.
Do you know anyone who never finished school? It's a scary thought that after all the hard work you made your kids do, they might not finish school. That's why it's so important to stand behind your kids. Let them know that as long as they try hard and do their best, that you're proud of them. Too much pressure is put on kids today to get perfect grades and not every kid can made straight A's.
In order to help kids, Boys and Girls Clubs and Disney have teamed up together to launch an online supply drive for kids who can't afford their supplies for school. All you need to do to participate is play an online quiz! For every five correct answers, a donation of supplies will be made to a Boys and Girls Club!
