As someone who was brought up in an Italian family, Barilla has always been a staple in my cabinets. They have an authentic taste without having to make your own pasta from scratch. I use Barilla and trust them for all my Italian dishes. So I was glad to try out their pesto sauce which I had not yet tried!

Barilla Creamy Genovese pesto sauce is really a versatile sauce, especially since it doesn't have to be warmed up. It's made with Italian basil which is a favorite of mine and has cheese mixed in as well. You can use it for dipping or make a pasta dish with it like I ended up doing for Mary.

To make my pesto pasta, it was really simple. I took one box of Barilla Rigatoni and boiled it for about 15 minutes. Once it was done, I drained the noodles and added in a jar of Barilla Creamy Genovese pesto. I then topped it with cheese and let Mary stir it all up together.

The taste was amazing and had an authentic Italian taste just like if I had made the pesto sauce homemade myself. Overall I am really impressed with Barilla as they are my favorite Italian brand. Did you know that they started in 1877 in Parma, Italy? My family is from L'Aguila Italy so it is always a pleasure to find a true Italian brand.
