Vote for the 2014 State Farm Neighborhood Assist Program

I participated in an Influencer Activation on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for State Farm. I received a promotional item to thank me for participating.

Communities across the United States and Canada answered the call from State Farm to help create a positive impact in their community and submitted 4,000 causes as part of this year’s State Farm Neighborhood Assist. Now the top 200 causes have been selected by the State and they need your “assist” to help vote them into the top 40.

Through May 16, anyone who has the free State Farm Neighborhood Assist Facebook application can vote daily for their favorite cause, or causes, and help bring $25,000 to the top 40 vote getters.

The entire voting process is simple. Just go onto the free app on Facebook and pick who you would like to vote for. You can vote 10 times per day so you can spread your votes out to different organizations or you can use all 10 of your votes at the same time for one organization.

I ended up voting for Meals on Wheels for a neighborhood in our state since I can't stand the thought of people being hungry. But there were so many different causes that it was hard to pick!

When I went on to vote, I originally looked for anything near our community. I would have loved to see a new synagogue be built here since ours closed down. But even though our actual community didn't have a cause to vote on, I found one that was still dear to me heart.

Do you have a cause that is important to you? Have you ever volunteered before? I've been a volunteer at many places including various libraries, the DMV, our local arts center and summer camps as a counselor. Everytime it was to help out when it was much needed! Even though when I volunteered Mary was too little to understand, but as she gets older, I plan on having her volunteer for home-school.
