Family Fun in Florida

When it comes to family holidays, Florida is the ultimate destination. With theme parks like Walt Disney World Resort and Seaworld, top-notch attractions like the Kennedy Space Center, and the dazzling beaches of the Keys, Florida family holidays take some beating. But don't just take our word for it - ask anyone who has ever been and you'll almost certainly hear the words "holiday of a lifetime".

So, what does a family trip to Florida have to offer? There's Walt Disney World Resort for starters, which serves up a seemingly endless list of stomach-churning rollercoasters, thrilling rides, world-famous cartoon characters and all the magic that comes with Disney. Another big-hitter is Universal Studios, where kids (and big kids too) can become part of the big screen and jump right into their favourite flicks.

Away from the theme parks, check out the awesome Kennedy Space Center. It's a day of discovery that's seriously out of this world, and the kids will simply love it. Or, take the trip to the vast Everglades and get up close and personal (but not too close) with its star attraction - those fearsome alligators! Take an organised tour through this fascinating swampy wilderness and treat the kids to an airboat ride for an experience the whole family will never forget.

And of course once you've suitably drained all that excess energy, and you're fit for nothing except flaking out on a beach, Florida is happy to oblige. Head to its glorious coastline for soft silky sands and pristine shores, with cracking resorts like Clearwater Beach at St Petersburg, an award-winning stretch of coastline that makes a top family destination.

If Florida family holidays are high on your wish-list, check out these family holidays with Thomas Cook to find out more. One thing's for sure, after a family trip to the Sunshine State, everything else pales into the shadows. So don't expect your first family holiday in Florida to be your last...

  1. We just went to Disney World last Spring for the first time ever! It was an amazing trip and we didn't even get half of what we expected to do, done. We'll be back for sure!
