This past weekend, we got two hummingbird feeders. I've never had them before so when I went to the store, I was tempted to buy the ready made red juice for them, but I heard it's not too healthy for the birds. So I decided to go home and make my own. And it's incredibly simple too.
Homemade Hummingbird Juice
4 Cups Water
1 Cup Sugar
Red Food Coloring
Bring the water to a boil. Pour the sugar into the water and stir until it's dissolved. Once it's dissolved, remove it from the heat and add a few drops of red food coloring to the mix. Once it cools, put it in your hummingbird feeders.
Already, we've seen a few hummingbirds this weekend and we're so proud! Plus, this recipe is super easy and cheap to make. And it's much healthier for the hummingbirds too.
