A Valentine's Day Present to Me

For those of my readers who aren't aware, I have always gotten my birds on holidays. Every single one and it's not even planned that way. Pete and Belle were on my birthday, Skeeter and Snowy were for Valentine's Day, Buttons and Patches were for Mother's Day, and Woody was for Thanksgiving. The only one who wasn't given on a holiday was Hobbles but that's because he was a rescue.

So with Valentine's Day coming up next week, I've been wondering what I'm getting until I checked my Amazon orders...

And saw a cage and bird food...

So I went to find out what I was getting and this is what I saw:

I'm getting a Cockatiel! So if you've noticed that my banner and button are changed, it's because I'm getting my bird in a few days! And the cage and food has already been ordered so as soon they get here, I'll be picking up my new baby!

What about you? What do you want for Valentine's Day? I'm a strange person; I love getting birds for Valentine's Day instead of cards and gifts, but not everyone is like me. But there was a time when I was younger when I loved getting special cards and flowers from my husband. Now he just gets brownie points for birds!

If you're still looking for that special gift for Valentine's Day, try checking out Personal Creations. I've actually shopped there before and they have an awesome selection of products that are completely personalized for you. I bought a coffee mug for my husband a few months ago and he has done nothing but rave about it! So I highly suggest them if you're still needing a gift.

I don't really care if I get anything on Valentine's day (though I'd never turn day chocolate any day of the year). My husband and I started dating on Feb. 18th so if anything we celebrate that, but maybe just by going out to eat. Getting a bird on holidays is a sweet tradition. Maybe I'll start asking for chickens on holidays. I would like to expand our flock variety :)

Congrats on the new feathered baby. I grew up with tons of birds in our house. We actually had a table that my parents made a ladder for so the birds could get up and down as they pleased. We had a parrot that would go outside with my dad and we'd see him strolling through the livingroom and up the ladder he went. When my dad would take him outside with him he'd leave the doors open for Hotshot. So cool. Anyway, we don't do much for Valentine's day. Usually it's bake cookies with the kids or something like that

Oh, you're so lucky and how beautiful it is. I just so much love cockatiels.

Oh, you are so fortunate. I would love to get birds for any occasion, but must wait until I have my own place. The others I live with will not allow me to have pets of any kind. I can't wait for your future "meet my cockatiel" post :)

I would much rather add to my family than receive flowers and a card. I can't wait to hear about your newest feathered friend.

That is one precious bird! Nothing warms your heart more than an addition to the family! Congrats.
